Bi-State Sage Grouse Not Warranted
On this week’s podcast, Edwin and Teresa sit down with Shawn Espinosa, NDOW’s upland game biologist responsible for the sage grouse program.
Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell recently announced that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has found that the Bi-State Sage Grouse population is not in need of protection under the Endangered Species Act.
This announcement is welcome news for the many users and partners in and around the bi-state region of Nevada and California.
Shawn takes a half hour to sit down with Teresa and Edwin to discuss the multi-year effort that helped make this announcement a reality.
The protection of species such as the Bi-State Sage Grouse is not an accident, so tune in to hear about the tremendous effort from public, private and federal partners behind this successful program.
