Behind the Scenes: Nevada and Washington Team Up on Pronghorn Transplant

Earlier this year 52 pronghorn antelope were released on the Colville Indian Reservation in the north-central part of Washington State after making the journey from Nevada where they were captured as part of a transplant operation.

These antelope captured near Battle Mountain were part of an operation to help return the species to a once populated range in Washington.

The animals had been native to these lands for some 8,000 years before disappearing in the early 1900s.
